The military of the countries of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) worked out the task of preventing a breakthrough of an illegal armed formation at the Barrier-2023 exercises taking place in Belarus. This was reported by the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Defense in the Telegram channel .
“At the Brest training ground, units worked out a tactical episode to prevent the breakthrough of an illegal armed group,” the publication says.
According to the defense department, the Collective Rapid Reaction Force (CRRF) inflicted fire damage on a mock enemy from small arms and grenade launchers, and also eliminated its vehicles using an anti-tank missile system (ATGM).
On the eve of the opening ceremony of the joint operational-strategic exercises of the CSTO “Combat Brotherhood – 2023” was held in Brest. According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, more than 2,500 military personnel and more than 500 pieces of weapons and equipment are involved in the event.
Previously, the DPRK held exercises simulating nuclear strikes on South Korea.
