At the end of the Dubai Crown Prince’s 30X30 fitness challenge, participants have registered 2.52 billion moves.
Sheikhs breaking into a sweat; government departments racing against each other to break world records; and residents giving it their all to lead an active lifestyle. In just 30 days, Dubai has come of age when it comes to fitness, and we have one man to thank for it: Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai.
That Sheikh Hamdan is a fitness enthusiast is no secret, but his ability to bring together people from all walks of life towards a healthier lifestyle is no mean feat. At the end of the Dubai Crown Prince’s 30X30 fitness challenge, participants have registered 2.52 billion moves and broken 15 world records.
Although the challenge ended on Saturday, the journey doesn’t end here. Issam Kazim, CEO of the Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing, told Khaleej Times: “While the challenge may now be over, the focus on a healthy lifestyle lives on and we encourage everyone to keep going and help continue our journey to make Dubai the most active city in the world.”
