Dubai’s Global Village, the multicultural festival park, has announced a new attendance record with more than 3 million visitors over the first two months of its latest season.
The attraction, which opened for its 23rd season on October 30, also achieved a 9/10 rating on its Guests Happiness Index, a statement said.
It added that the guest numbers and sales showed a “massive increase” after the park made “drastic changes and upgrades” in its infrastructure this season.
One benefit to the guest experience is that it now takes an average of 9 minutes to enter and exit the park, even on weekends, official holidays and during concerts, Global Village said.
Bader Anwahi, CEO of Global Village, said: “We strive to achieve the highest international quality standards and provide a distinctive and diverse entertainment experience that brings out the rich heritage and diversity of the participating cultures.
“We expect to welcome a record number of guests this season that will also positively impact the tourism industry in the UAE. Global Village has become on international family destination by any standard and is considered as one on the largest cultural family destinations in the world.”
He added that Global Village witnessed a record breaking attendance, that exceeded 130,000 guests, for its Friday concert by Egyptian superstar Mohamed Hamaki on December 28.
On the food front, Global Village offers a choice of 24 restaurants and cafes and 140 food kiosks while there are also more than 3,500 retail outlets.
Global Village will continue to welcome guests until April 6 and is open from 4pm to midnight from Saturday to Wednesday and from 4pm to 1am on Thursdays, Fridays and public holidays. On Mondays, it is dedicated to families and women only. All its events are included in the ticket price of AED15.
