The weather has finally cooled down enough to have a nice dip in the waters of Kite Beach, but if you fancy yourself a pro-paddler, you may as well get a bit of competition out of it.
Taking place on Saturday October 27 and part of the month-long Dubai Fitness Challenge, City Swim 2018 is back for swimmers of all levels to have a bit of competition and all-round fun.
Swimmers can take part in a range of distances, including the shorter 250m and 500m sprints, along with the lengthy 1,000m and whopping 2,500m.
Whether it’s your first time dipping into competitive swimming, or you fancy yourself a bit of a water baby, anyone aged five and older can take part in the event, although only those aged ten and above can take part in the 1,000m and over.
Those who place first, second and third in each category will get a finalists medal along with an electronic certificate.
Not to worry, as everyone else who finishes will also get a medal, too.
Need a little energy boost before or after diving in? Participants can also pre-order a breakfast when signing up for Dhs65.
It’s Dhs110 to enter each race, but those involved in the Dubai Fitness Challenge will get a neat ten percent discount when applying.
To get yourself signed up, go to www.hopasports.com/en/event/city-swim-2018-dubai and choose your distance. Be fast though, as registration closes on Thursday Oct 25.
It’s all part of Dubai Fitness Challenge 2018, and there will be plenty of other sports to get involved with if you don’t fancy yourself a swimmer. Stay tuned for more up-dates.
We love Kite Beach, but it isn’t the only stretch of sand Dubai has to offer. You can check out six other beaches that you definitely need to head over to here.
