Dubai-dwelling Italian food fans – hold on to your ravioli. Alici Dubai, a brand-new restaurant from the team behind Dubai’s multi-award-winning Il Borro Tuscan Bistro, is set to open in early 2019 on the city’s new island destination – Bluewaters.
Facing the busy beach in front of JBR, Bluewaters is set to be home to a string of new hotels, attractions and restaurants, including Caesers Bluewaters Island Resort, Ain Dubai and The London Project.
Alici Dubai, which is yet to reveal its menu or interiors, is to be an Italian seafood restaurant inspired by Italy’s famed Almalfi coast, serving up fresh dishes cooked in simple, authentic, traditional style.
Set across two floors at The Wharf, overlooking the sea, Alici will be able to seat 250 guests across both its indoor and outdoor seating areas, and will also house a grand dining room that can be booked for private occasions, plus a chef’s table within what is likely to be a buzzing kitchen.
It’s the second project in Dubai for the team responsible for the city’s buzzing Il Borro Tuscan Bistro – currently Dubai’s Best Italian restaurant and Restaurant of the Year 2018 according to Time Out Dubai – located at Jumeirah Al Naseem hotel. As the name suggests, the restaurant focuses on dishes from the central Italian region of Tuscany, producing its own olive oil and grape beverages, and serving specials such as the area’s renowned bistecca alla Fiorentina.
Fans of the group’s existing work in the city will be raring to pack their bags and head south to Alici Dubai for the winter. We know we are.
