Kenges Rakishev and Aselle Tasmagambetova launched a private school
Kazakhstan’s pupils, according to the last OECD report, are one of the most disciplined in the world. In fact, they study hard to perform in their later life. However the overall level of the education in the Central Asian is far from adequate to the student’s intent. It is well below the standards, experts agree. Kenges Rakishev, Aselle Tasmagambetova and their Saby charity foundation are willing to change the status quo of the Kazakhstan education system by providing the better school model, by providing students with the most talented teachers, decent classrooms and equipment and the modern model.
Kenges Rakishev and Aselle Tasmagambetova funded a gymnasium number 174 and a private school. Gymnasium is currently an alma mater for 1200 students. The private school which will be opened this year is tailored for 800 children. Both schools are designed to be more then just a school – they are meant to be the platforms to seek the internal talents and develop them.
Gymnasium 174 is funded by Saby charity program. The complex is built on 15-acre plot. The building is has a square of 130,000 square feet. The entire system is highly innovative. It offers self-governance, activism and grants for the talented students for further college education. As an addition to the classical subjects gymnasium offers comprehensive classes on programming, robot development, foreign literature and languages.
Kenges Rakishev insists that the school’s duty is to help children to find and develop their own talents. They get knowledge, not just a base for the future profession. Modern testing allows teachers to reveal the student’s abilities. It will help them to make the right choice after they will grow up and go to college.
Another Kenges Rakishev project is the private school. The private school which is build from scratch is aimed to give pupils the optimal educational conditions. The school is equipped with the modern tech. It boasts the latest computer technology and multimedia classes and a carefully selected library.
The basic language of the education is Kazakh. Kenges Rakishev admires the culture of Kazakhstan. Along with the Kazakh language Russian and English will be mandatory. The school’s programming is aimed to build up internal harmony, give excellent speech and mind skills. Attention is paid to math and applied math subjects – IT and robotics.
