Azerbaijan, Israel Discuss Prospects for Economic Cooperation

Azerbaijan’s First Deputy Minister of Economy Elnur Aliyev has met with the members of the Azerbaijan-Israel inter-parliamentary working group in the Israeli Knesset.

During the meeting, Elnur Aliyev noted that joint work is being continued to develop economic cooperation between the two countries. He emphasized that Azerbaijan and Israel provide mutual support to each other in various fields.

“High-level visits, meetings and events play an important role in the development of relations. The Joint Commission between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the State of Israel, whose 3rd meeting was held in Baku this April, is an important platform for the development of partnership. The economic and trade cooperation between the two countries is also expanding. Last year, the trade turnover with Israel increased by more than 85 percent,” the deputy minister underlined.

“There are ample opportunities for strengthening partnership with Israel in innovative development and digital economy, energy, industrial zones and agricultural parks, tourism, water management, food security, health, humanitarian and other fields. It is important to involve Israeli companies in the reintegration projects implemented in Azerbaijan’s liberated territories,” Elnur Aliyev added.

Member of the Azerbaijan-Israel inter-parliamentary working group in the Israeli Knesset Evgeny Sova emphasized that his country attaches importance to the development of relations with Azerbaijan. He noted that Israeli companies are interested in participating in projects implemented in various areas, including the restoration of the liberated territories of Azerbaijan.
