Shoigu Went to North Korea for Weapons – Blinken

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, during his visit to Pyongyang, negotiated with the DPRK authorities on the supply of weapons to continue Russia’s military operations in Ukraine.

Blinken expressed his opinion, speaking in Brisbane, Australia, following the results of negotiations in the “two plus two” format, in which Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin and Australian defense and foreign ministers Richard Marles and Penny Wong also took part .

The head of the State Department decided to demonstrate his sense of humor and suggested that the head of the Russian Defense Ministry did not go to North Korea on vacation. He added that now Russia is trying to find allies who could provide it with weapons, and therefore organized a visit to the DPRK.

“We see that Russia is desperately trying to enlist support for weapons wherever they can be found … We see this both in North Korea and in Iran, which has provided Russia with a lot of drones,”

 Blinken complained.

Earlier , EADaily reported that the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, General of the Army Sergei Shoigu, during his visit to Pyongyang, was received by the Chairman of State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Kim Jong-un .

Meanwhile, in Russia itself, clear official results of Shoigu’s visit to Pyongyang have not yet been announced. It is only said that the trip was held in a friendly atmosphere, and the delegation participated in events dedicated to the anniversary of the end of the Korean War.
