Ukraine needs artillery shells more than long-range ATACMS missiles.
This was stated by US President Joe Biden, answering a journalist’s question whether he is considering the transfer of surface-to-surface ballistic missiles to Ukraine.
– Yes, but they already have the equivalent of ATACMS, and most of all they need artillery shells. We are working on it,” Biden replied.
Earlier, at a press conference, President Volodymyr Zelensky said that discussions and discussions regarding the possible transfer of ATACMS missiles to Ukraine are still ongoing.
The final decision has not yet been made.
ATACMS tactical missile systems are surface-to-surface missiles with a range of about 300 km, which is about four times longer than the missiles used by mobile HIMARS systems.
