Brazilian Guarulhos International Airport Receives EgyptAir First Direct Flight

The Guarulhos International Airport in the Brazilian city of Sao Paulo received EgyptAir’s first direct flight between Cairo and Sao Paulo, on Monday.

EgyptAir will operate a special flight to the Brazilian city of Sao Paulo every two weeks.

In May 2022, Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and Secretary-General of the Union of Arab Chambers Khaled Hanafi met with Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) Mr. Osmar Chohfi, discussing a project of establishing a Brazilian industrial zone in Egypt where Brazilian products like car components and textiles can be manufactured to be exported from Egypt to the rest of the world.

On 30 September 2021, Madbouly discussed with the Brazilian Ambassador to Cairo Antonio Patriota launching a direct flight between the Egyptian and Brazilian capitals.

On 21 November 2017, Joao Bosco Monte, the President of the Brazil-Africa Institution told Egypt Today that Brazil was keen to cooperate with Egypt in various fields including energy, health, pharmaceuticals, and tourism, noting that such cooperation can be translated into establishing direct flights between Egypt and Brazil via cooperating with EgyptAir.
