Unistream Will Stop Issuing and Sending Transfers in Euros and Dollars to Tajikistan

The Unistream company announced the cessation of issuing and sending dollars and euros in Tajikistan and from the republic due to US sanctions. Customers who sent transfers before September 30, 2023 are advised to contact the sender’s bank to return the transfer before the specified date. However, after this period, returns will not be possible.

The sanctions imposed on July 20 were the main reason for the cessation of work with dollars and euros. Together with Tajikistan, Unistream will no longer be able to make transfers in these currencies in other countries, including Moldova, Armenia, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan and Kazpost of Kazakhstan. Currently, the company provides only the possibility of transferring in rubles.

The National Bank of Tajikistan drew the attention of the authorities to the problems associated with the termination of dollar and euro transactions and to find alternative solutions to ensure a safe and reliable monetary system in the country. This means drawing attention to the possible consequences for the economy and consumers and looking for other international partners for remittances. Such measures will help maintain stability and confidence in money in Tajikistan.
